Every man desires to have good hormonal health and a happy, healthy sex life, but a prostate problem or impotence can sometimes get in the way.  Impotence, or the inability to sustain an erection well enough to perform intercourse and ejaculation, affects millions of men every year.  And prostate enlargement or prostatitis, with its accompanying symptoms of difficulty urinating, urgency to urinate, and sometimes painful urination or ejaculation, is so common that it almost seems to be a natural part of aging.

ANATOMY OF THE PROSTATE

The prostate gland is a firm, partly muscular, chestnut sized gland in men.  It is located just beneath the bladder and it surrounds the tube that the urine passes through.  Muscular fibers in the prostate contract to control the flow of urine. If the prostate becomes enlarged, it places pressure on the urine flow.

Prostatitis, a condition in which the prostate gland becomes infected or inflamed, is most common between the ages of 25 and 45 and affects 30% of men in this age group.  Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), in which the gland slowly enlarges, is a condition that tends to occur after the age of 45.  Around fifty percent of 60-year-old men are affected by BPH.

The prostate also produces semen and contributes to male hormone production.  A well-functioning prostate ensures good bladder health and its also involved in the chemical and mechanical aspects of erections and sexual function.

PRODUCT BENEFITS

There are some particularly beneficial herbal medicines which are proven to improve prostate health.  These include saw palmetto berries, pygeum tree bark, nettle leaves and pumpkin seed oil.*  In addition, leading hormonal expert John R. Lee, M.D., has brought to light that the use of a natural progesterone cream by men can restore prostate health and balance the damaging hormonal changes that occur with aging.

Men make progesterone in smaller amounts than women do, but because progesterone is the direct precursor of testosterone, it’s vital to male health as well.  Most hormones are made by both men and women -- simply in different amounts. For example, women make about one-tenth the amount of testosterone that men do.

According to Dr. Lee, there are three major hormonal changes that occur in men as they age:

* Progesterone levels fall,

* Estrogen levels rise, and

* Testosterone changes to its active, damaging “dilhydro-testosterone” (DHT) form.

The effect of these changes is weight gain, breast enlargement, an enlarged prostate gland, possible bladder infections, and sometimes, prostate cancer. Progesterone inhibits the conversion of testosterone to its dangerous form, allowing the beneficial form of testosterone to remain in the body and balance the excess estrogen.

The skin cream method provides a fast and prolonged delivery of the active ingredients, directly into the bloodstream.

QUOTE FROM DR. LEE

In his Medical Newsletter, Dr. Lee has written about the benefits of progesterone for men.  He says: “Some years back, several men called or wrote to tell me of their experiences with progesterone cream; usually the result of helping a woman to apply it. They reported that their symptoms of prostate enlargement such as urinary urgency and frequency decreased considerably, and their sexual performance increased.”

“Since then, several men with prostate cancer have told me that their PSA level (Prostate Specific Antigen) -- an indication of prostate cancer -- decreased when they started using a daily dab of progesterone cream, and that they have had no progression of their prostate cancer since using the cream.”

MEDICAL STUDIES:

* At both the Staten Island College and Mount Sinai Medical School in New York, progesterone was shown to raise the level of androstenedione in the prostate gland itself.  Androstenedione is a precursor to testosterone.  A healthy prostate needs an abundance of male hormones to function well.

* At the Central Hospital University in Paris, the use of progesterone inhibited the formation of DHT (dilhydro-testosterone) and also prevented the binding of DHT to the prostate.  DHT in the prostate is a key causative factor in prostatitis and prostate disease.

* The University of Maryland in Baltimore demonstrated that prostate cells have progesterone receptors, showing that the prostate is very responsive to this hormone.

SUGGESTED USE: For men over 40, apply a small amount of the creme daily (about 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon) to the area between the legs directly behind the testicles, to relieve prostate problems and improve diminished sex drive.  Increase or reduce dosage as needed. The cream may also be applied to other areas of the body such as the backs of the knees, wrists, palms of the hands, the inside of the arms, upper chest, neck or face.   It may also be applied directly to any sore or strained area of the body.   Note: In some cases, a prostate problem may have been developing over many years, so be sure to use the cream consistently.  It may take several weeks to obtain improvement.
